NDIS

Paying with your NDIS plan

The NDIS funds essential household tasks that you cannot do yourself because of your disability. Cleaning and yard work come from your Core supports budget, under Assistance with daily life, and must be related to your disability and in line with your plan.

The support items and the official NDIS maximum

The NDIS price limit is the official maximum per hour for NDIA-managed and plan-managed plans, as at 24 September 2026 (NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27). GST included. No weekend or evening loadings apply to these items. Our own rates are set out in your service agreement and never exceed these limits.

Choosing a provider

Six questions to ask any provider

Use these with us or anyone else. A good provider will answer every one clearly.

  1. 1

Are you a registered NDIS provider for household tasks?

NDIA-managed participants can only use registered providers. Ask for the registration number and check it on the NDIS Commission register.

  2. 2

Which support items will you claim, and at what price?

Cleaning and gardening use 01_020 and 01_019. The price should be no more than the NDIS price limit if your plan is NDIA-managed or plan-managed.

  3. 3

Will I get a written service agreement?

It should set out the tasks, visit length, price, cancellation notice and how to make a complaint.

  4. 4

Who will come to my home?

Ask about worker screening, and whether the same person can visit each time.

  5. 5

What happens if I need to cancel?

Under NDIS rules a provider can charge for a cancellation with less than 2 clear business days' notice. Make sure the agreement says so.

  6. 6

How do I raise a problem?

Every NDIS provider must have a complaints process. You can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Questions

Common questions

NDIS

Does the NDIS pay for cleaning and gardening?

Yes, when you cannot do the task yourself because of your disability and it fits your plan. Cleaning and yard work are "household tasks", funded from the Core supports budget (Assistance with daily life). Talk to your support coordinator or plan manager if you are not sure your plan covers it.

Which NDIS support items do you use?

Cleaning is claimed under 01_020_0120_1_1 House Cleaning And Other Household Activities. Gardening and yard work are claimed under 01_019_0120_1_1 House or Yard Maintenance. Both are hourly items in the Assistance with daily life category.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Yes. Manora is a registered NDIS provider, and our registration includes household tasks (registration group 0120). You can check us on the NDIS Commission provider register.

I am NDIA-managed. Can I use you?

Yes. NDIA-managed participants can only use registered providers, and our registration covers cleaning and yard work.

How much does the NDIS pay per hour?

The NDIS sets the most a provider can charge for NDIA-managed and plan-managed funding. From 24 September 2026 that is $60.10 an hour for house cleaning and $59.01 an hour for house or yard maintenance in most of Australia, including all of Sydney. These limits are reviewed during the year, so check the current NDIS Pricing Schedule.

Will the NDIS pay for an end-of-lease clean?

No. The NDIS lists exit cleaning as a tenancy cost, not a disability support. We can still quote for one if you pay for it yourself.

Aged care

Can my aged care package pay for cleaning and gardening?

Under Support at Home, cleaning is "domestic assistance" and gardening is part of "home maintenance and repairs". Both can be funded, and both are "everyday living" services, so you pay a contribution of between 17.5% and 80% of the price depending on your pension status. Your Support at Home provider must arrange the service. We are not a registered aged care provider, so please ask your provider how they can include us.

How much will I contribute for cleaning or gardening?

Cleaning and gardening are "everyday living" services under Support at Home. A full pensioner contributes 17.5% of the price. Part pensioners and Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holders contribute between 17.5% and 80% depending on income and assets. Other self-funded retirees contribute 80%. Services Australia works out your rate.

I am still on the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). Can I use you?

The CHSP is run by funded providers, who arrange services such as domestic assistance and home maintenance. Ask your CHSP provider about your options. You can also book us privately.

Visits

Do I need to supply cleaning products?

The NDIS does not pay for cleaning products, because they are household items. We will agree with you before the first visit who supplies them.

Do I need to be home?

It is up to you. Many people like to be home for the first visit. After that we can agree how we get in, in writing.

Can I book you privately without NDIS or aged care funding?

Yes. Anyone can book cleaning or gardening with us and pay directly. Ask us for a quote.

What if I am not happy with a visit?

Tell us in any way that suits you and we will put it right. You can also make a complaint to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at any time. See our complaints and feedback page.

How do I get started?

Send us an enquiry or call us. We talk through what you need, agree a service agreement and a regular time, and then start. Support coordinators can enquire for a participant.
